The Mallee Catchment Management Authority is embarking on an airborne electromagnetic salinty survey in 2024
We would like your feedback and input into our natural resource planning.
Salinity affects the Mallee environment and irrigation industries. To manage it well, we need accurate data on saline groundwater. That’s why we are conducting an airborne survey from March to June 2024, using advanced technology to map the salinity changes in the Murray River corridor. This survey will give us valuable information on:
The Mallee Catchment Management Authority region stretches from Nyah to the South Australian Border along the Victorian side of the Murray River and down to towns such as Birchip in the south. It covers 39,939 square kilometers.
The Mallee region is recognised nationally and internationally for the diversity and uniqueness of its natural, cultural and productive landscapes.
The Mallee CMA is led by Chief Executive Officer, Jenny Collins. It has 55 staff that manage dryland, floodplain, cultural heritage, environmental water and irrigation & salinity divisions of the organisation. These divisions are supported by a corporate service team.
